It has been 10 months since the Presidential inauguration, and the solidification of Trump’s presidency. But what has his administration accomplished? To be frank, not everything the administration has “achieved” is positive, or would even be considered an accomplishment by some people’s standards. But regardless of that, Trump’s administration has accomplished a little of what they intended to.

Back in April, the Trump administration appointed Judge Neil Gorsuch as the 113th Justice of the Supreme Court. This ended a year-long resistance among Republicans who refused to accept a nomination from the previous president, Barack Obama. While Democrats tried to filibuster in order to prevent Gorsuch from taking the position, they were met with the power of the Senate to override a rule by a majority of 51 votes. Speaking of majority, Trump has definitely accomplished raising xenophobia and bigotry levels in America, which aided him in gaining a majority of his supporters. Some might say racism in this nation has gone from latent to blatant. However, not all of his supporters are necessarily racists. In addition, what has been dubbed the “Trump Effect,” is the effect Trump’s administration has had on immigration patterns according to Homeland Security. Trump’s administration has also secured a travel ban on the 6 Muslim-majority nations of Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Said travel ban is actually nearing its 90-day expiration date and the administration is working to get a new one in place that Trump claims is “far larger, tougher and more specific,” than the one currently in place. There are a few things that have been implemented during Trump’s term that his administration itself has not enacted, such as the $100M grant to aid with the Flint Michigan water crisis, the unemployment rate that hit a 9 year low of 4.6% in December of 2016, then proceeded to dip to 4.5% in March 2017. And while there may not be a direct correlation to Trump having an effect on that, it did happen under his presidency. While Trump’s presidency is controversial and can be viewed so far as somewhat unsuccessful, he did achieve some of what he sought out to.
