As we all know, February is Black History Month. A month where we come together to acknowledge the successes and contributions African-Americans have made all over the world. However, over time we have come to learn about the same iconic figures every year. Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X are just a few names that almost all of us are familiar with. Not to say that there is anything wrong with them, but there is a surplus of other African-Americans who have been a great service to our society. Here are the Pioneer’s favorite, most impactful African-Americans who deserve the spotlight:

Royson: Sadio Mane

Kaya: Tiger Woods

Samantha: Bessie Coleman

Kiley: Tracee Ellis Ross

Natalie: Alivn Ailey

Tyra: Madame CJ Walker

Devin: Alice Allison Dunnigan

Ismail: Kwame Ture
