Every year thousands of students and teachers around the country go on their annual winter break. Many see this as a pause from responsibilities and overwhelming duties. But what exactly are they planning on doing on this break?  

Many students and teachers will be celebrating the holidays at home this year. “I’m spending Christmas at home this year with my family. “ says sophomore KimbeTrley Jean, “ The rest of the days I will still be in town probably hanging out with friends or just chilling at home.”

Johanna Bruce, another sophomore, had a similar plan in mind. “This year will be the first time in many years my family and I spend Christmas at home. We’re having a party.” she adds “But the rest of the days I plan on going shopping with friends and catching up on my shows.”

Physical Education teacher Ms. Moss, was another one who also planned on hanging with friends and going shopping but added “I plan on getting caught up on my workouts” to her plan.

Much like the others, Abigail Hamilton also plans on spending time with friends and family, except she plans on doing this in Jamaica. “I’m visiting my relatives, going to the beach, and celebrating Christmas there. It’s gonna be a lot of fun.” she says. Sophomore Ashley Hughey will also be going out of the state. “My family and I are going to Florida.” ,she adds “It’s kind of a tradition. We go there every year.”

Whether you’re going away or staying home , the majority of people can agree that winter break is definitely one of the most exciting parts of the school year.
