Lavar Ball holds tryouts
With kids travelling as far as Oklahoma and Florida, Lavar Ball held his Junior Basketball Association’s (JBA) 5th tryout in Atlanta, GA, the league’s 5th participating city. The JBA allows for high school seniors to bypass college and play basketball without having to stress out over academics. It also allows for students to receive money, and understand what a professional basketball player’s typical day is like.
Lavar Ball believes his league will reel in “ real talent.” These kids are all mostly seniors in high school who have the chance for a promising NBA career path. Many are criticizing not only Lavar but the athletes who decided to play in his league, claiming the league is hurting the future of young athletes. Ball was dumped recently by the nation’s top recruits and will continue to hold tryouts for his league.
