With the victory over Paterson JFK High School 14-6 at home, the mountaineers improve to 2-0 under new coach Darnell Grant. Darnell Grant was recently hired during the offseason. This West Orange team is coming off a 3-7 season last year with former head coach Jim Matsakis.

In addition to Grant, the mountaineers have received two transfers that surely will make an impact on the field, Amiyn Hanks and Tyrese Travis. Hank, a Wide Receiver transferred in from North Plainfield last year and will add to the stacked junior class. This class includes Division 1 prospects:  3 star RB Shakhi Carson, 3 star WR Jayson Raines, QB Mason Murdock, and CB Dorian Rawls. Furthermore, Travis is a 5-10, 235 lb. defensive end that wreaks havoc on the defensive line of the mountaineers. He transferred in Malcolm Shabazz HS in Newark, NJ and is hoping to help his team to make it to the state championship.
