West Orange High School’s Theater Program is on the rise. Following their success at the Thespian Festival Earlier this Winter, the West Orange High School Master Scene Study Class and the Drama club competed at the STANJ competition at Montclair State University. STANJ (Speech and Theatre Association of New Jersey ), is a competition for theater programs all over New Jersey to compete in all elements of theater. Our theater Program even competed against the theater program of Stranger Things star, Gaten Matarazzo. Under the instruction of Ms. Wendy Mapes, the Master Scene Study Class had been preparing to compete since the beginning of the school year. As a result of their hard work, the West Orange High School Theater Program had multiple top 10 placements. Seniors, Joe Nalieth and Matthew Schwartz brought home the Governor’s Award for Improvisational Pairs.
