Chilombo Album Review
The thought of love and healing is what Jhené Aiko brings to her latest album, Chilombo, as she incorporates singing bowls and crystal sounds into her 3rd album.
Aiko is known for her psychedelic, alternative r&b and hip hop sounds, which is all what this album is about. She collaborated with Big Sean, Miguel, Ty Dolla $ign and etc.
On May 8, she released “Triggered”, as the lead single which is a freestyle about her feelings towards a breakup. The album then followed up with the soul, R&B influenced “None of Your Concern,” featuring her on again off again boyfriend Big Sean, magical and trap P*$$Y Fairy (OTW), the dreamy R&B Happiness Over Everything ft. Future and Miguel.
Personally my favorite songs on the 20 track album is Happiness Over Everything and her 4th song called “B.S.” featuring H.E.R which is an up-beat trap song that could be considered as a diss towards her lover.
Jhene Aiko has outdone herself in bringing her magical voice into an album that deals with heartbreak, grief and joy. In Chilombo, she brings nothing but chill vibes into this album.
