Some Good News

John Krasinski hosts Some Good News (SGN)

In such an uncertain and mournful time, it is hard to maintain a positive outlook on life. However, it is vital for our mental health to try to focus on some benefits of quarantine, or we might just lose it. John Krasinski, notable for his role in The Office as Jim, has taken into consideration bringing light to people’s drowsy days. He has created a weekly feel-good YouTube show called “Some Good News “(SGN). Here, he brings well, some good news. He hosted a prom for seniors around the country via Zoom with live performances from Billie Eilish, The Jonas Brothers, and Chance the Rapper. Recently, he held a graduation for seniors and had them ask questions to some of their biggest idols such as Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Jon Stewart, and Malala Yousafzai. With that being said, if you are ever in need of a laugh or need some good news, go check out his YouTube channel.

It is important to be optimistic in such a pessimistic time, so each day I suggest reflecting on the benefits of quarantine. For me, quarantine has provided me with a much needed break in life. In the most stressful time of junior year filled with hours of homework, soccer practice, and games, I could finally take a breath and relax for a minute. Here’s what some staff members of The Pioneer feel is their BOSQ (Benefit of Self Quarantine):

Justin Peters- I was able to catch up on Breaking Bad.
Devin Wilkes- I got ice cream from Applegate Farm yesterday.
Ismail Taylor- Workout routine.
Natalie Nevins- I woke up before 12!
Tyra Hughes- I’ve been doing yoga everyday 🙂
Samantha Nunez- I‘ve been discovering new songs to listen to.
Kaya Schultz- I can tan when it’s nice (Yes, that’s me again. As you can tell, there are many benefits of quarantine)
Seamus Murphy- Got rid of my bad Corona stache.
Royson Folas- I get to sleep in
