Meet the Staff: Matthew Iannone
Q: What is your full name?
A: Matthew Aaron Iannone.
Q: When and where were you born?
A: St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston on October 17th, 2003.
Q: What are some of the things you are passionate about?
A: I’m really passionate about music, mainly heavy metal and grunge. A few of my favorite bands are Nirvana, Anthrax Creed, Cure, etc. There’s just too many to name.
Q: When did you become passionate about journalism?
A: Freshman year I realized I had a really intensive memory when it came to football. My dad’s friend told me that becoming a sports journalist might be a good field for me. I then took Intro to Journalism and joined the newspaper and I really liked it.
Q: Could you see yourself pursuing a career in journalism and media?
A: Yes. A dream of mine is to be a writer for the Rolling Stone magazine.
Q: What are you goals (academic or personal) for junior year?
A: Personally I’ve already accomplished one of my goals. I lost 30 pounds over the last two months. Academically, I want to be less lazy when it comes to assignments and not procrastinate.
Q: What’s one word that describes you best and why?
A: Nonchalant. A lot of my family and friends say that that is how I act when it comes to everything. I’m pretty much a go-with-the-flow type of guy
Q: Favorite hobby?
A: Skateboarding. I’ve been skateboarding for three years and I’m still learning. I’m not that good, or as good as I want to be, but I’m trying.
Q: Are you part of any clubs or do you any extracurriculars?
A: Im in the Screenwriters society and Newspaper and I’m considering wrestling heavily.
Q: Where would you see yourself in 20 years?
A: I would like to be a writer for the Rolling Stone. They’re not really a music magazine anymore but they still prioritize those articles.
