As it gets closer to Thanksgiving, it is important to remember that it isn’t solely about the abundance of food and the two-and-a-half-day break- rather, Thanksgiving stands as a celebration of what you have, to be thankful for things such as friends, family, health, and other things alike. Given this, a lot of people don’t take the time to think to themselves, what exactly are they thankful for? After asking around, the general consensus and common answer were pretty much the same.
A vast majority of students said they were thankful for friends and family, which while it is a generic response isn’t an invalid response. A lot of people are dependent on their friends and family to get through the school day; especially if their school day is especially stressful or just boring. The same sentiment can be applied to people who said they were thankful for their pets, who do an unbelievably great job at keeping mental health intact. Alongside that, some people said they were thankful for their current health and their home.
