Born Jeffery Lamar Williams on August 16, 1991, known as Young Thug, is an American rapper best known for his modern hip hop and trap music, on Spotify he is the 190th artist in the world with 27,163,162 monthly listeners. His top three biggest songs are Trance by Metro Boomin which he featured on with Travis Scott, next being It’s Up by Drake which he featured on with 21 Savage, and the third one being his song called Pick up the Phone.
Over 900 days ago Young Thug was arrested and sent to prison on gang and racketeering charges, and with the gang charge, the people part of the gang along with him were accused of murder, armed robbery, drug dealing, and carjacking. During his trial in May 2022, the prosecutors said that the rap label he created was just a front for an organized crime syndicate that was responsible for about 75 to 80% of violent crime in the Atlanta area.
After over 2 years of being arrested this year at the end of October, he pleaded guilty to the charges and was released. This is due to the Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker asking if he would agree to a non-negotiated plea meaning she would decide alone on his fate. She decided to sentence him to 40 years which would force him to automatically serve 5 years but she turned it into time served, as well as 15 years of probation, part of it being 100 hours of community service which if not served correctly could result in 20 years to be served in custody.
Now the world waits again to see if he will stay out of prison or violate the terms set for him and get arrested again.
