This Celebrity’s Baby Name Will Shock You: Hailey Beiber’s Unacceptable Choice

In the past few years, celebrity culture has exponentially evolved in a unique aspect: baby names. Fans have witnessed an incredible sense of innovation from their favorite celebrities, from Gwyneth Paltrow naming her daughter “Apple” to Elon Musk naming his child “X Æ A-12.” Actress Busy Philipps is especially praised for the bold choice of naming her daughter “Cricket Pearl.” From fruits to bugs to oddly motivating names such as “Powerful Queen Cannon”, fans expect nothing less from rising couples.
In a shocking turn of events that has left the celebrity world both dumbfounded and enraged… Justin and Hailey Beiber have named their newborn child… Jack. Yes, Jack. This simple and popular name is weirdly normal, leaving fans disappointed by the lack of creativity and innovation. Perhaps it stands for something more eccentric, like Jack-o-lantern or Jack in the box, or maybe the Biebers are just…ordinary?
Though some fans are pleasantly surprised by this basic choice, most are outraged. They feel a child with the Bieber last name should have a first name that reflects their future extravagant lifestyle. This unfortunate child will have to live his whole life with a name that shows up thousands of times on the United States social security list, or worse, a name found on two dollar beaded bracelets at souvenir shops. I mean, without a unique name, the barista at Starbucks might think it’s okay to mess up his order. I bet they would never mess up X Æ A-12’s order…
Though a name like Jack may not be the most memorable, it will surely protect a child against the world of middle school bullies or the daunting experience of having a substitute stare at your name in confusion, wondering how to pronounce it.
By choosing a name that is simple yet disappointing, Hailey Bieber has managed to do something so many have struggled with amidst the rivalry for the most avant-garde life: stand out. Though some are applauding her and Justin for being so normal they are different, others believe they just “gave up.” If celebrities start normalizing being normal, they might start to think it’s okay to name their child “Brad” or even “Karen.”
As society prepares for the next generation of nepotism babies, we have to wonder, will basic names spark a new trend, leaving the celebrities who found their baby’s name in a random word generator in regret? As Justin and Hailey begin to set new trends, fans refuse to accept the chance that future celebrities might one day go as far as naming their child… “Steve.”
