Evan Kerr, Student Jounalist
Evan Kerr (he/him) is a sophomore at West Orange High School and a journalist for The Pioneer and is preparing to make his WOHS writing debut. However, this isn’t Evan’s first rodeo in terms of writing. He first started his journalism career by writing a lot about sports, going as far as writing a preview for the Mountaineers Hockey season in his Introduction to Journalism class.
When Evan isn’t writing for The Pioneer, he can be found doing what he writes about, hockey. Evan is a forward for the Mountaineers and was a part of the McMullen Cup championship team last season. He even scored his first career goal last season and he is excited to have the opportunity to score some more during his sophomore year.
When he isn’t at school, writing, or playing hockey, he is usually with his friends. Evan’s friends have had a profound effect on his life and have made Evan into the person he is today by helping him overcome his fears.
Although he doesn’t have much free time, when he does, he can be found watching his favorite show, The Morning Show, rooting for the Philadelphia Flyers, or spending time with his two pets, his dog Rosie and his cat Stella.
Evan is excited to show WOHS what he is made of this year on the ice, in the paper, and during his cross-country debut.
