Azari Howard (she/her) is a junior at West Orange High School and a student journalist for The Pioneer. This is her third year writing for The Pioneer. Azari has been interested in writing since Pampers and loves sharing her thoughts and interests with readers. She is also an active member of the WOHS community through Girl’s UP, Interact Club, JSA, Black Student Union, and Italian Club.
In her free time, Azari loves chatting with friends, exploring the outdoors, watching films, and journaling.
After high school, she wants to study veterinary medicine and pursue a career as a veterinary surgeon. Some colleges she’s considering are UC Davis and Tufts University.
This school year, she hopes to make more of an impact on students through her work in Girl’s UP and work hard in her preparation for college. Some fun facts about Azari are that she was homeschooled until her freshman year, she was a competitive gymnast for ten years, her favorite movie is American Beauty, and she has an extensive teddy bear collection.
