Founded in 1994 by Missouri high-school history teacher Rodney Wilson, October is LGBTQ+ History Month. The Pioneer wants to recognize the month and encourage educational spaces to discuss the extensive history of LGBTQ+ figures and organizations that have fought to make the queer identity accepted in today’s society.
