Violet Kohlenstein, In Our School/Town Editor

Violet Kohlenstein is a junior this year and proud editor of the “In Our School/In Our Town” section of The Pioneer. Writing has always been Violet’s passion. From a young age, she has been enthralled by words and storytelling. Whether it be through poetry or journalism, Violet loves to express herself through language and is currently working to combine her stories with her original art in a picture book. Outside of The Pioneer, which she has been honored to write and edit for since her freshman year, Violet is the Vice President of the Fight For Green Club, where she explores her second passion: the environment. As a nature lover, Violet loves hiking and adventure. Believing in the boundless educational opportunities found in the outdoors, she tries to spend as much time as possible in nature and hopes to pursue a career in Environmental Science. Violet is also a Mountaineer Mentor and a three-season varsity athlete, running track and cross country for WOHS.

When she is not writing, studying, or running, Violet spends her time crocheting and goofing off with her family, which includes her dog and two cats. In each of her many endeavors, Violet’s family has been an unwavering source of inspiration and support, for which she is constantly thankful. This year, Violet looks forward to working closely with The Pioneer staff and is excited to see what amazing things they have in store. Violet can be reached at [email protected]
