West Orange Public Schools District-Earlier this year Dr. J. Scott Cascone announced that he would be leaving the West Orange Public Schools District for personal reasons effective April 5, 2022. This came as a shock to many considering that both the students and faculty of the district had a lovely friendship with Dr. Cascone.

The West Orange Board of Education disclosed how they were currently on the hunt for a person to fill in for Dr.Cascone as an interim superintendent until they find a more permanent replacement.

The Board announced on Monday, February 28, 2022, in an Instagram post the news people were waiting to hear.

Dr. C. Lauren Schoen is the new interim Superintendent of School for the West Orange Public 

Schools District. 

Dr. Schoen is a veteran in the field having served as the interim Superintendent for the Fort Lee Public School District and has been Superintendent of the Rochelle Park School District, the Ramapo-Indian Hills School District, and the Mahwah Township School District. She was also the president of the Bergen County Association of School Administrators, co-chaired the NJASA Spring Leadership Conference Committee (2011-2019), and was selected as the New Jersey Association of Schools Administrators Northern Regional Superintendent of the Year (2015).

Now taking the reins from Dr. Cascone, Dr. Schoen started her employment on March 1, 2022.
