It’s official! As of December, the Screenwriters Society and Photo/Video club have been collaborating to host the first-ever short film festival, named Different Shades of West Orange, at West Orange High School. The festival will be made up of student-made films in 3 categories: narratives, documentaries, and animation. All students are welcome to participate and make their own film or be involved in one. The only requirement for the short film is that it must relate to West Orange in some kind of way.

The advisors of the clubs, Ms. Biddle, Mr. Ficuciello, and Ms. Thomassie has been working closely with all students involved to help them create a creative, high-quality short film.

Different Shades of West Orange will be held at the Library Media Center (LMC) at West Orange High on May 16th, 2022. The festival is a chance for expression of the different stories and perspectives of West Orange.

Submissions for the festival are due on April 29th, 2022 at 3 PM. Until then, anyone can enter, so feel free to reach out to Ms. Thomassie ([email protected]) or me ([email protected]) for the google classroom code or if you have any questions!
