Infinity War: Movie Review

The movie that so many have been waiting for, the third installment of the avengers series has finally been released, “Avengers: Infinity War.” This movie has been in the making for corresponding to nearly all 18 marvel movies over the last 10 years.  This movie is only the beginning of what is going to be a second part released next year, which is still untitled as of now.

The star power of this film is something astonishing, as the actors and heroes involved in the movie seem to be endless. “Infinity War” has the combined star power of the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Black Panther all mixed into one in addition to a comedic aspect that had been lost in some previous Marvel films. Spiderman made a big comedic contribution with his multiple culture references. Star-Lord also not only brings comedy but a quality soundtrack when the guardians first appear.

It is not right to discuss “Infinity War” and not mention Captain America’s new look.  Since “Captain America: Civil War,” Steve Rogers has been labeled a criminal running from the law.  With his new label comes Cap’s new identity. Cap has grown a full beard and grew his hair out, different from the typical clean cut Cap the fans are use to.  This is an external example of the rugged life Cap has lived since the last avengers movie was released. Cap’s suit is also different, portraying the same spangled outfit, with an all black background  adding more of a fugitive effect to his identity.

What really stands out in this movie is the prolific battle scenes throughout the film.  When it’s Spiderman, Ironman, and Dr. Strange battling the children of Thanos, it’s Cap and all the heroes on Wakanda defending the mind stone Vision possess. Seeing so many different heroes fighting all at once is worth the price of admission alone and that’s without the comedy and music and added drama. In addition, the visual effects are incredible and make the fighting scenes that much better.

Having a powerful antagonist is key to any groundbreaking superhero movie and Thanos was the perfect villain. Physically superior in every way, and overall so much more powerful than anyone, Thanos dominated the scenes he was in.

The ending was mind boggling and truly heartbreaking to most Avengers’ fans however, this movie is well worth seeing despite the heartbreak.
