On both Friday, April 12th and 19th, a former West Orange High School (WOHS) student played Coachella 2019.

Melody Ector, who graduated from WOHS as a part of the class of 2015, is the keyboard player for the band King Princess. Following her graduation from WOHS, Ector attended the University of Southern California (USC), where she joined the band. King Princess found mainstream success in 2018 following the release of their single “1950,” which is a tribute to the LGBTQ community.

Coachella seems only to be the beginning for King Princess, who will play both the Governor’s Ball and Lollapalooza later this year, before the highly anticipated release of their debut studio album and embark on a summer tour. Through the success of King Princess, Melody Ector continues to make herself and West Orange proud.
